# BILLIE JEAN — Secret ReTouch

### A Letter by Daniele Mastracci

I grew up with him.
With his sounds, his rhythms, with that voice that belongs nowhere else but the soul. I own all his records. I’m a true Jackson fan — and I always will be.

Michael was the one who made me understand what music really was.
That sacred, magical music, built with care and respect.
Because of him, I became a DJ, and later a producer.
His voice stayed with me through every difficult moment, every night in the studio, every instant when I needed it the most.

This ReTouch comes from there.
From nostalgia.
From melancholy.
From the desire to hear him in new forms, in different genres, in other sonic spaces — without ever betraying him.

The truth is… I miss Michael.
And when you miss something, you start looking for it everywhere.

In memories.
In sounds.
In images.
In feelings.

And if you can no longer find it in the real world, but you’re lucky enough to know how to create music… then you try to recreate that emotion. Even just for a moment. Even just to feel that presence again inside a room, inside a groove, inside a night.

This “Secret ReTouch” is my way of saying thank you.

Not to change something that was already perfect — because Billie Jean will remain immortal forever — but to imagine, for a moment, Michael inside my sonic universe.

Between funk, disco, nostalgia and the future.

I know this is a borderline territory. I truly do.

I don’t want to be misunderstood.
What I do, I do for the music, because I believe that what you create and produce somehow represents who you are.
This ReTouch is a part of me.
